It’s been a year since the Earth was enveloped in a caul of total darkness, and still no one knows how or why it happened. In fact, it’s been so long that most people no longer seem to care. Underground reporter A.J. Strange wishes he had the luxury of apathy, but his journalistic instincts and knack for attracting the worst kind of attention make it impossible. He knows too well the terrible things that lurk in the shadows. His investigation into the disappearance of his twin brother leads him on a terrifying journey to the very heart of the darkness that surrounds the world.
